I used some of the organic samples (there are geometric samples as well) on top of a basic L-System tree. It's not the best thing I've done, but it was fun.
I had truly hoped I would spend more time working with Rob Bunney's new formula. I should have known better.
Summer is always a busy time for me. Now that I've made the move to Florida to hold down the fort at Chez Wilson south, while John and John, Jr. are working on the renovation of Chez Wilson north, along with the time spent on the usual long weekend getaways, I have added travel time getting to that northern start-off point.
Most recently, the annual Necon weekend took me north for almost two weeks. I decided that I wanted to take my car with me but only wanted to spend a couple of days travelling. The days of caffeine driven days are over for me. When I drive from Florida to Connecticut, I make two overnight stops along the way. I took the Auto Train, from Florida to Virginia, to make two days possible.
I am not a train person; I didn't sleep well, even though I had two seats all to myself, and I will probably never do it again. It did accomplish the goal of leaving on Monday afternoon and arriving on Tuesday evening.
The trip back took three days with stops in Maryland and South Carolina.
When I take these little excursions, recuperation time is also longer than it used to be. I just don't bounce back like I once did.
The other day, I sat down at my laptop, with the television on for background noise, to do a little doodling with Ultra Fractal. After some Doodads here and Orbit Traps there, I settled down with One Shape and found some pleasing ones (shapes that is) in the iconographic realm. As the six-pointed Star of David appeared, I started thinking, "I could do a series."

When I had the first two done, I thought a diptych would be pretty cool, so I asked my friends on the Ultra Fractal mailing list for help. In theory my idea is possible, however, excution is proving somewhat difficult with the multi-layer images I have here. Anyway, now I'm thinking triptych anyway. Ahhh... so many possibiities... so little time.
